About Our Students

The Student Life

Student life at ECCN is marked by rigorous learning and spiritual growth, but also filled with recreation, fellowship, and fun. Students are part of an environment that enables them live out their faith daily and grow in their understanding of what it means to be a minister and leader in the Body of Christ. ECCN is an intentional, Christ-centered community fostering an environment where students to experience authentic Christian fellowship and collegiality, and where relationships grow stronger and deeper, even after they graduate. Student life will enable students to identify their gifts, strengths, and weaknesses, learn how to resolve conflicts, how to manage their time and, above all, learn what it means to love one another as Christ loved us (John 15:12). Students are encouraged to learn and live the things that are “true, noble, right, pure, lovely and honorable” (Phil 4:8) in a place that is “in the world, but not of the world.” Through the programs and services of the Student Life component of the college, students are encouraged to live and grow in godliness, maturity, responsibility, and servanthood.

Student Ministry Practicum

“That the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” - 2 Timothy 3:17

In addition to coursework, the Student Ministry experiential learning component is an integral part of our program of study at the Evangelical Christian College Nepal.

A student ministry practicum involves periods of serving in the local church or other ministry as part of a student’s overall learning program. The purpose of the student ministry practicum is to enable students to apply what they learn in the classroom, develop their ministry skills, and gain valuable and practical ministry insights, confidence, and experience. The student ministry practicum helps students translate theory into practice, improve their ministry and interpersonal skills, and gives them practical experience in how to deal most effectively with others (both ministry leaders and congregants), develop leadership skills, teach them obedience, and provide valuable insights to share with other students and teachers in their academic classes. The ministry practicum periods help students understand the real-life context of ministry in the local church and the community, including how the local church operates and the challenges of the local church ministry and leadership.

In addition, practical ministry experience in local churches and ministries helps students understand their call from God to the ministry and develop a servant’s heart – and that’s what God wants in all His ministers and leaders. At ECCN, we believe that the best way to develop faith and faithfulness is by serving others.

Testimonials

My name is Pabitra Rai. I am from Dharan, born into a Hindu family. I grew up in Hindu culture. My mother was sick during childbirth, but was healed after receiving the Good News of Jesus Christ. Went to church with my family, but didn’t really know about Jesus. At the age of 16, I got to know Jesus through Sunday school. After that I felt God’s love, His blessings in my life and accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of my life. Soon afterward, I was baptized and received Jesus Christ in my life totally. My life completely changed! He is my true savior, helper and provider. I am nothing without Christ. Recently, God gave me a deep desire in my heart to serve Him by preaching and teaching to others. I want to share the gospel with the world: Jesus Christ is only one who gives us eternal life.
